This plump bird is a charming object which rocks gently back and forth, or you can adjust the sand ballast inside to find its perfect point of balance. It is made using a technique known as “bulge forming”: two 0.8mm stainless steel sheets are cut into the shape of a bird, stacked and welded together around the edges, then inflated like a balloon by applying water pressure through the tail section. The result is a visual texture so soft and gentle, it hardly seems like metal at all.
